With superior 60kg load capacity runners, built-in soft-close and optional dividers and top cover, Tanova Designer Series laundry hampers are a premium laundry solution.
For cabinets from 350mm to 800mm wide, Designer Series laundry systems are in classic white with steel or plastic hamper options. Several have two baskets to aid with pre-wash sorting—though we can’t train the kids to put garments in the right basket!

Like the Designer Series 2 kitchen bin systems, this laundry hamper range is built on 70kg load capacity runners with soft-close and optional push-to-open functionality.
Built on premium Simlead slimline drawers, push-to-open functionality is ‘ever-active’. Just bump it with your knee or hip and, even if already partially open, it will open further; ideal when you have your arms full of muddy sports gear.
Designer Series 2 offers models with 1 or 2 hampers and options for cabinets from 350mm to 700mm wide.

I have a soft-close Tanova laundry hamper and the opening and closing action is different to that of the soft-close drawers in my laundry. Why is that?
Different brands of drawer runner/drawer slide have different opening and closing actions, different load capacities and different ‘recovery’ periods after an opening/closing cycle.
Your drawers are likely built on a soft-close runner brand that differs from that used for your Tanova laundry hamper. This does not mean that either of them is not working properly.
The Tanova laundry range is quite large! How do I find the right model for my laundry?
Here’s a couple of tips to help you narrow down to just the most suitable models:
- First, decide whether you want a full pull-out unit on its own runners or a drawer insert model that will sit on your own drawer.
- Next, decide what your available cabinet width is. This will eliminate many units.
- Decide whether you want a powder-coated steel basket or a plastic basket. If plastic, decide whether you want one basket or two. This will also eliminate many models. (For two hampers you’ll need a modular cabinet width of at least 450mm. However, some of our powder-coated steel baskets have an optional divider that splits the basket.)
- If you want two plastic baskets, you can then choose whether they are both white or whether you have one in white and one in dark grey (which can be helpful for pre-wash sorting).

We have our own showroom in Christchurch. It’s at 4 Morse Road in Wigram and is open 10am to 2pm Monday to Friday, by appointment.
