What is the relationship between FIT and Tanova?

FIT is a New Zealand-owned and operated importer, distributor and wholesaler of hardware which we provide to kitchen makers, joiners, cabinet makers and so on. Tanova is our own range of Kitchen Waste Bins, Laundry Hampers and Ventilated Drawers, developed here in New Zealand over many years, in consultation with our trade partners.

How do I open a trading account with FIT?

To open an account with FIT, send us a completed cash account or credit account application form.

You can download these forms from the FIT Resource page (under the “Useful Documents” section) or request it from our Customer Happiness Team: in**@*******co.nz

A cash account means you’ll need to pay for the goods before we ship them.

A credit account means payment will be due the 20th of the following month. If you are seeking a credit account, we will require several credit references.

How long will it take for my new account to be open?

We generally have a cash account open within 1-2 days.

A credit account takes a little longer while we check credit references but is usually open within 5 working days.

How long will my order take to arrive?

We know your project is important, so we aim to be fast: we undertake to dispatch the same day on orders that are received by 2.30pm (provided the items are in stock and we’re known for holding strong stock levels).

Once your order is dispatched, it’s in the hands of couriers. If you’re a trade customer, you can track orders via your login on FIT’s website.

Do you charge freight?

Most orders are delivered freight-free. However, we do sometimes need to charge a delivery fee for rural areas.

Because we are a wholesaling business set up to operate as efficiently as possible for trade partners, for small orders (under $150 +gst) we may charge a small order handling fee.

I have an account with FIT. I’ve set up a login via the FIT website but I’m seeing retail pricing not my trade pricing.

If you have a trading account with us, we need to set up your loin for you so that it’s attached to your account.  Once we do that you will see trade pricing and any special contract rates you have. To request a website login, email us on in**@*******co.nz

I’d like to see FIT hardware, including Tanova bins, laundry hampers and/or ventilated drawers. Do you have any showrooms?

We have our own showroom in Christchurch. It’s at 4 Morse Road in Wigram and is open 10am to 2pm Monday to Friday, by appointment.

Elsewhere in New Zealand, we have many kitchen maker/joiner partners who have FIT hardware installed in their showroom. Check the FIT Showrooms page to find the ones close to you.

Why do I have to make an appointment to go to you Christchurch showroom?

We’re a small (but perfectly formed!) team in Christchurch with a reputation for incredible service delivery. We ask that you make an appointment for the showroom so that we can both give you the attention you deserve while also ensuring our critical logistics timeframes are still met.

Does FIT offer a design service?

FIT is an importer, distributor and wholesaler of hardware which we provide to kitchen makers, joiners, cabinet makers and so on. We’re not designers or makers ourselves. Having said that, if you have a tricky space that you’re trying to find a solution for, we may be able to assist with ideas.

Does FIT do site visits?

FIT is an importer, distributor and wholesaler of hardware which we provide to kitchen makers, joiners, cabinet makers and so on. We’re not designers or makers ourselves so site visits don’t usually fall within our services.

I have a FIT product that I’m having trouble with. What should I do?

If your kitchen, laundry, wardrobe or other space has been completed recently, your first call should be to the maker/installer you worked with. They should be able to determine whether the issue is due to incorrect installation, a factor like overloading or whether it’s genuinely faulty. (Faults are rare but they can happen from time to time.)

If there’s a genuine fault, they will contact us to discuss a solution.

Rest assured, that FIT stand behind our hardware. We will always do our very best to resolve any product-related issues.
