FIT is a purpose driven, Kiwi family-owned and operated business with more than twenty years’ experience serving New Zealand kitchen designers, kitchen makers, joiners and cabinetmakers.
The Tanova brand and range is FIT’s pride and joy – and it’s not just because it’s a high-quality New Zealand designed and assembled bin system.
In 2007, after purchasing a small local business manufacturing a simple kitchen bin system, we spotted an unmet need for our kitchen designer, kitchen maker and cabinet maker partners.
Working closely with them, we created Tanova Waste Solutions; concealed, integrated pull out kitchen bins designed for efficient waste separation, easy access and optimised use of kitchen space.
2012
Growing beyond the kitchen.
We then spent the next five years undergoing an intensive multi-stage redevelopment, eventually extending our expertise to laundry hampers and ventilated drawers.
We launched Tanova pull out laundry hampers – space-saving laundry systems offering smart designs to maximise functionality and convenience – in 2012 the first in New Zealand and, we believe, a global first too!

Refined through partnership.
Since 2012, Tanova has continued to evolve through ongoing collaboration with kitchen designers, cabinetmakers and industry partners. New product innovations, including Ventilated Drawers, the premium Designer Series & Designer Series 2 ranges, and the versatile FLEX system, have expanded the range while improving performance, functionality and compatibility with modern cabinetry.
Today, Tanova’s kitchen waste bin, laundry hamper and ventilated drawer systems represent decades of continuous refinement — shaped by industry feedback, real-world application and a commitment to creating smarter storage solutions for New Zealand homes.

All Tanova waste bin systems are designed and assembled in New Zealand using New Zealand-fabricated and powder-coated frames.
Models featuring 20L and 36L buckets or baskets qualify for the New Zealand Made licence, while the entire Tanova laundry range proudly carries the New Zealand Made licence.
